[edit] Ingredients

[edit] Method

  1. add yeast to milk and leave covered in a warm place to ferment for a bit
  2. preheat oven to gas mark 4
  3. melt butter and golden syrup in a pan
  4. add flour, mixed spice and sugar in a bowl and make a well
  5. break egg into well and pour in the fermented mixture
  6. stir around a bit
  7. add butter and golden syrup mix
  8. stir some more
  9. add your currents
  10. you should have a mixture which is just a bit thicker than cake mix, i guess at my measurements so add more flour if needed
  11. crush the bananas with a fork and mix into the mix
  12. allow to rise for a bit in the bowl with a tea cloth over it
  13. butter a bread tin (i actually used a large casserole dish because i'd made so much)
  14. bake for about 1 hour, possibly more, its ok if its still only slightly gooey because its nicer toasted that way

delicious with cups of tea!
