Edel "What's Happening?" Sherratt. A very bubbly happy irish type, who has the unfortunate quality of making the simple mathematics extremely hard to understand. In fact she has a habit of unteaching students.
[Interesting - she was the one that taught the only database related module I found remotely interesting! I'd definitely dispute the claim above - one of the *better* lecturers, in fact...]
[I'll also vouche that her teaching methods, while sometimes bizarre, are quite good if you can filther through the humour and numerous asides. Also a great source of emergency_help when your project supervisor has decided to go on holiday, or judge the next series of Robot_Wars, or something... --Dyn]
Her preferred mode of transport is a green SpaceHopper with bizarre "mathematical" symbols on.
Last seen bouncing down the high street singing mathematical equations at passers by who sport a bufuddled look.
Managed to once include "Menage 'a trois" in one of her maths lectures, including a definition following a question from a student.
Memorable Quotes:
"Pi....as in..pots and pans...and maybe a pumpkin."
"Ooh, kind of looks like some sort of..demented cat!"
"You remind me of my son."
"I had a fat friend once... who got stuck in a chair"
