Dear students

I am sorry I haven't announced this before but I am really no good with goodbyes.
I am starting a new job in industry on Jan 15th having spent the last 26 years in
Aberystwyth. It's a big change for me - leaving Aberystwyth, moving to London,
leaving academia and moving to industry but I am sure it is the right thing to
do. My last day in Aberystwyth was yesterday so I was able to sneak away fairly
quietly.

I have really enjoyed teaching all of you; it has been a pleasure. I would like to
take this opportunity to wish you all the very best with your degrees and your
furture lives. Work hard; it will be worth it, but above all enjoy life - it goes
quickly. And if you do have any problems please do tell the department. Meinir Thomas
is always willing to lend an ear to see if she can help in any way.

Best wishes & good luck

Mark

-- One of the most helpful lecturers I know

-- Tough but fair - good in an emergency

-- Some one you always could goto in a pinch. I remember he counciled about for guys in second year who were on the brink of a nervous meltdown. Will be greatly missed.

-- An absolute ledgend of a lecturer. Will be greatly missed by all...except maybe The Daddy...but that's TheDaddy for you.
