^-- WTF more like 10/10 bitches!

IT'S ANOTHER GREAT HAYAO MIYAZAKI FILM!!!!!! Based on one of his first successful Manga series.

OMFG this animation is like 23 years old!!!! It looks as good as a modern animation s00p'd up on a computer machine.... There is no drop in frame rate..! Some poor Japanese bastard must have had to ink cels for like 100 years or something!

The music is for the most part understated classical tones, which effectively add to the alien atmosphere. During action sequences the pace quickens for some "fresh" 80's beats! Considering the age of this film, and only it’s very recent remastering the sound is better than you would hope for.

The japanese dub is better quality than the engrish, but the subtitles are a bit crap with a couple of grammar errors. The English dub version is still very good. IT HAS PATRICK STEWART AS SOME SWORD MASTER CHAP (Lord Yupa) FFS! you cant say fairer than that m8, can ya'z?! Other notable voice talent includes: Uma Therman (Kushana), and Mark Hamill (Mayor of Pejite) aka LUKE SKYWALKER COME ON GUYS THIS FILM RAWKZ!

The whole thing is set in the distant future, a very long time after some uber Mech/Titan/Nuclear war. The planet is coated in a jungle that releases deadly spores; but all is not as it appears. Princess Nausicaä of the valley of the wind investigates the mysteries of the poison jungle, and unearths the secrets of it's insectoid inhabitants. She races against warring kingdoms that surround her peaceful valley to save the destiny of the planet from ultimate destruction etc. etc.

IT’S LIKE DUNE! but Japanese, animated and VERY COOL! It's aged better than anything I've seen from the early 80s... Jonneh was right to like this over Princess Mononoke. This is a must see by anyone who liked Dune, has a passing interest in finding out what Anime is all about; and to probably see the best animation from the 80’s ever! Akira can go fck itself! This film is earlier and produced to a whole other level of quality!
