A group of around 20 (and certainly no more than 150 [1])people will live on an island, free of authority. In order to survive and work the following things are required. We'll need monkey butlers of course. "How many?" I hear you ask. Well, one at first, but he'll train others.

Hasn't anyone read 'The Beach' or perhaps 'Lord of the Flies'? moriarty

Food

Agriculture will require a large input of time and energy, as producing food is paramount to our survival. Starchy foods such as cereals, potatoes and cassava, legumes such as chickpeas and lentils, vegetables such as courgettes, cucumbers, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers, and broccoli, herbs such as oregano, basil, dill, marjoram and thyme and spices such as ginger, tumeric, cumin, clove, cinnamon, cardamom, and peppercorns all need to be produced, and infrastructure for their safe storage must be provided. Fish can be harvested from the sea, and a small number of farm animals such as goats and chickens can be kept for meat, milk and eggs.

Short term nourishment can be satisfied via Cannibalism.

Shelter

Need

Enough to sleep, cook, relax, store personal belongings and work if working from home.

Spectre has mentioned before that he'd like to live in a shipping container (deck porch optional). Braingrind will no doubt want to live in a mudhut. Everyone else presumably would like to live in a house. The design of which will depend upon the climate of the island and the personal requirements of the occupants just like anywhere else in the world.
