Relating to topics set on AFNet, specifically:
- Quotes should be placed in reverse-chronological order (n.b. I believe this was spectre's request, which is why it is so stupid) (actually it was mine, how dare you - hypno). The reason for this is so that new topics dont get pushed off the end of the topic by new ones, only old ones get pushed off. I don't however support putting the induvidual lines of a particular quote (between || marks) in reverse order.
- Seperate lines of a quote should be seperated by a single pipe character: |
- Seperate quotes should be seperated by double pipe characters: ||
- In the event that something is put in the topic which is not a quote, double pipe should be used and the topic entry should be placed at the beginning of the topic.
- Topics should not begin or end with either single or double pipes.
Why be anal about topic setting syntax? So a yet to be written program can go through the logs and pick out the topic-ed quotes.
That is all.
